Frequently asked questions

What counts as routine maintenance?
The small, frequent work that is too small for a work order and too frequent for a service plan: greasing, filter cleaning, washing, battery and fluid checks. On most sites it is done every day and written down nowhere. Solmex gives each job a name, an interval in days and a place to record it against the asset.
Can we use our own names for these jobs?
Yes. The list is yours. Solmex starts you with five common jobs, and you can rename them, add your own or archive the ones you do not use. Renaming a job updates it everywhere, and an archived job still shows on the records already logged under it.
Will assets we have not logged yet show as overdue?
No. An asset with no routine history shows as not tracked yet, which is different from overdue. An asset only goes overdue when its job has an interval and the last recorded date is older than that interval. A job with no interval is recorded but never flagged.
Can we bring in our old paper logbooks?
Yes. Download the Excel template, enter one row per job done with the asset, the job, the date and who did it, and upload it. Solmex checks the whole file first and shows every problem before anything is saved, then imports it all at once.
