Frequently asked questions

How does Solmex spot abnormal fuel consumption?
It compares each fill-up's burn rate with that machine's own usual rate, using the hour meter or odometer reading taken at the pump. More than 20% away is a warning and more than 50% is critical. A machine needs at least three measured fill-ups before it is judged at all, so a new machine is never flagged on a guess.
Can it tell when a fill-up was never recorded?
When the tank capacity is stated, yes. A machine cannot burn more between two fill-ups than its tank holds, so a gap that implies more means a fill-up was probably not recorded. Consumption far below a machine's usual rate is flagged as possibly incomplete records too. Solmex points out the gap and never estimates the missing litres.
We fuel from our own tank and from outside stations. Can we track both?
Yes. The station list holds your own tanks, mobile bowsers and outside filling stations, each with its own price per litre. Every fill-up names its station, so volume and price can be compared between them, and the cost of each fill-up posts to the machine that took it.
Can fuel be entered days after it was taken?
Yes, within a limit your company sets. A late entry asks for a reason, and its meter reading is checked against the records on either side of that date rather than against today's meter. An honest late entry is accepted, and an impossible one is refused with the record it contradicts named.
