A distribution centre runs on handling equipment that gets serviced and building fabric that mostly does not. Solmex puts both on one register: the forklift on its hour meter, the dock leveller on a calendar, the racking on the damage inspection that keeps it legal.
Warehousing and distribution
Building fabric usually falls outside the maintenance system, which is why damaged racking is found during an incident rather than during an inspection. In Solmex a racking run is an asset with an inspection template, and a failed bay raises a finding that stays open until it is resolved.
A truck working two shifts comes up before one working one, from meter readings rather than a date. Readings are entered at the machine or picked up when it is charged or fuelled.
A failed inspection line becomes a finding against that asset and stays open until somebody closes it with a reason. Isolating a bay is recorded, not remembered.
Assets belong to sites, so cost and downtime per DC are a filter rather than a consolidation. The same list reads as one warehouse or as the whole network.
Bring one DC's equipment list and your racking inspection sheet. We will run both on a phone during the call.
