Anyone can report it. Nobody needs a seat.

A work request is somebody outside maintenance saying a machine needs attention: an operator, a supervisor, a driver, a visitor who scanned the sticker. It is not a work order yet and not a breakdown yet. Maintenance decides which it becomes.

The Solmex work request queue showing requests raised from a QR scan and from the public request page, each with the machine, the category, the priority, the requester and how it arrived.
The Via column records which door each request came through. A request naming no machine on the register says so.

Work requests

The front door to maintenance.

Scan the QR sticker on the machine, open your company's request page, or raise one inside the app. Every route lands in the same numbered, audited queue, and nothing is ever guessed: the machine is linked only on an exact match, and the text stays exactly as it was typed.

TRIAGE

One decision, three outcomes

Maintenance turns a request into a work order, into a breakdown that takes the machine down, or closes it with a reason. It can be decided once, and the database is what enforces that.

The people reporting are free

Work requesters are unlimited on every plan, including the free one. The whole point of a request queue is that asking for work must never be the thing you ration.

TRACKING

The requester is not left guessing

Every request carries a tracking link. It shows the number, the status and the outcome: the work order it became, or the reason it was closed. Never an internal id, never the triager's name.

Questions about work requests

01Who can raise a work request?

Anyone. An operator scanning the QR code on the machine, somebody using your company's public request page, or a user inside the app. The first two need no licence and no account at all, which is the point: the fault report should never be the thing that is rationed.

02What happens to a request after it is sent?

Maintenance triages it: into a work order, into a breakdown that takes the machine down, or closed with a reason. It can be decided once. The requester keeps a tracking link showing the number, the status and the outcome, including the work order it became or why it was closed.

03What if the person does not know the machine number?

They type what they know and it is kept exactly as typed. Solmex links the request to a machine only on an exact match against the register; a near miss stays unlinked and the person triaging picks the machine. Nothing is guessed from the wording or the location.

04Is the public request page safe to publish?

Yes. It is rate limited per address, protected by a bot challenge, and answers an unknown or malformed link with a bare not found so the shape of the input reveals nothing. The tracking page shows a hand-picked subset: the number, the status, the machine, the dates and the outcome. Never an internal id, never the name of the person who triaged it.
