No shortcuts through the steps

A permit moves from draft to approval, sign-off and active work in that order. The issuer, approver, supervisor and workers are named on it. A rejected permit returns to draft with a reason.

Prove

A closed permit stays as it was

Once closed or cancelled, a permit cannot be edited or signed again. Continuing the work means a new permit. Each permit prints as a PDF with a QR code that opens its current status.

Frequently asked questions

Which permit types are covered?
Fourteen, including hot work, cold work, confined space, electrical, high voltage, working at height, excavation, lifting, lockout tagout, pressure systems, line breaking, radiography and chemical handling. Each type comes with default content you can edit, and you can keep several named templates per type for different jobs or sites.
Can one permit cover more than one machine?
Yes. A permit can be issued for a site area with no machine, for one machine, for a work order, or for a group of machines. Welding on ten machines in one workshop bay is one hot work permit covering all ten, and each machine shows the permit in its history.
Can a closed permit be reopened?
No, on purpose. Closed and cancelled are final: edits, signatures and uploads are refused. If the work continues, you copy the permit into a new one. The record then shows exactly what was authorised on each day, which is what an investigation or an audit asks for.
Which plan includes work permits?
