Frequently asked questions

What is an asset register in a CMMS?
It is the list of everything you maintain, with one record for each asset. Every other part of Solmex points at that record: services, work orders, breakdowns, inspections, parts and costs. So when you open an asset, you see everything that has happened to it, by whom and when.
Can I import my existing equipment list from Excel?
Yes. Download the template, which already lists your sites and locations, fill it in and upload it. Solmex checks the whole file and shows every error with the row and the fix. Nothing is imported until the file is clean, so you never end up with half a list.
Does every asset need an hour meter?
No. An asset can have an hour meter, an odometer, both, or no meter at all. A trailer, a tank or a hand tool can be recorded as having no meter, and it is then serviced on the calendar. Solmex never invents a reading of zero for it.
What is the QR code on each asset for?
Anyone who scans it sees a short public card with the asset's status and next service, without logging in, and can report a problem. The card never shows costs, internal notes or documents. Your own staff, when signed in, go straight to the full asset record.
Which plan includes asset management?
